# ❄️ Cold Open — "the Tube
*5 panels · before the title*
C.1 *The bathroom shelf. Extreme close on a toothpaste tube that has been through a war — rolled, folded, crushed, folded again, geologically compressed.*
C.2 *Suraj's hands. He applies a specialised two-thumb technique with the focus of a bomb-disposal expert.*
S.F.X: *…nnngh…*
C.3 *Nothing. He holds it up to the light like a jeweller.*
Suraj Inka undi. Nenu **choosthunna.**
C.4 *Kicha, behind him, arriving with a solution: a rolling pin from the kitchen.*
Keecha Physics ra. Pressure.
C.5 Wide. Both men on the bathroom floor, rolling the tube flat with a rolling pin, in total silence, with total seriousness. Anudeep appears in the doorway holding his own brand-new tube, watches this for three full seconds, and quietly withdraws without a word.*

# ▸ Act One — the Call · panels 1 to 16
## Page One
**1.** *Morning. The kitchen. **Muddamma** at the stove, in command. Suraj hovering at her elbow like a large hopeful dog, phone in one hand.*
**2.** *Close on Suraj's phone. A contact he should not have. **"Anudeep Amma".** He got the number off Anudeep's own phone while it charged.*
**3.** *He dials. He drops his voice to the register of a man conducting espionage.*
Suraj *(low)*: Aunty… namaste. Suraj andi. Anudeep roommate.
Suraj Aunty, oka **chinna** doubt. Vaadiki em thinadam **ishtam ledu?**
**4.** *Beat. He listens. His face lights up with the joy of a man handed a weapon.*
Suraj *(delighted, whispering)*: …**beerakaya.** Sare aunty. Thank you aunty. Namaste.
---
## Page Two
**5.** *He hangs up and turns to Muddamma with the gravity of a general.*
Suraj Muddamma. Ee roju — **beerakaya curry.**
Mud-damma *(not looking up)* Enduku ee roju?
Suraj *(already leaving)* Experiment.
**6.** *(⭐ **The plan:** everyone has been asking Anudeep what he *likes* and getting nowhere. Suraj has gone around the problem entirely — find what he *hates*, cook it, and watch. A guest who won't state a preference will surely at least flinch at the thing he can't stand.)*
**7.** *Anudeep passes through with his laptop, oblivious. Suraj watches him go with the patient eyes of a man who has set a trap.*
**8.** *Aishwarya over the balcony rail, mug in hand, having heard the entire phone call, saying nothing yet, filing it.*
---
## Page Three
**9.** *Noon. Muddamma sets down lunch. And there it is, centre of the table: **beerakaya curry**, steaming, unmistakable, the one thing his mother swore he could not stand.*
**10.** *Suraj, Kicha and Aishwarya arrange themselves around the table with the studied casualness of people who are absolutely watching.*
**11.** *Anudeep sits. Serves himself rice. And — because it is what has been cooked, because Muddamma made it, because saying anything would be stating a preference — **takes the beerakaya too.***
**12.** *Close. The first bite. A single, microscopic pause — the only tell — and then he keeps eating.*
---
## Page Four
**13.** *He eats it slowly. Methodically. Finishing every bit of the one dish on this earth he was raised to refuse, because refusing it would mean being someone with something to refuse.*
**14.** *Suraj watches this happen and it does not land as a victory. It lands as something else. His grin fades by degrees across the panel.*
**15.** *Aishwarya, quiet, chin on her hand, watching Suraj watch Anudeep. She got there first and she lets Suraj arrive on his own.*
**16.** *Anudeep sets down a clean plate.*
Anudeep Bagundi. Thanks.

# ▸ Act Two — the Watching · panels 17 to 40
## Page Five
**17.** *After lunch. Suraj drifts into the kitchen where Muddamma is scrubbing the vessel, quieter than we have seen him.*
Suraj Muddamma. Vaadu… **motham** thinesadu.
Mud-damma Aaku. Naaku telusu.
Suraj Vaadiki ishtam ledu kada.
Mud-damma *(a look that has raised a hundred boys)* Anduke ra.
**18.** *Suraj stands with that for a moment. He does not have a system for this feeling and it shows.*
**19.** *Kicha, oblivious, at the whiteboard again — but Suraj waves it down without heart. The investigation has stopped being funny to exactly one person in the room.*
**20.** *Aishwarya, from the sofa, lands the only diagnosis, lightly, not even looking up:*
Aish-warya Vaadu "ishtam ledu" ani cheppadu ra. Endukante… appudu adi **vaadi illu** ayipothundi.
---
## Page Six
**21.** *Jay passes through, phone in hand, dressed for the night shift.*
**22.** ⭐ Thread *Close on Jay's screen for one panel: a shift roster, two columns — Night and **Day.** His thumb rests on the Day column. He does not tap it. Unremarked.*
**23.** *Suraj, distracted, half-catches him:*
Suraj Jay. Nuvvu ee roju… intiki eppudu?
Jay Late. Padi-padakonda.
Suraj Sare.
**24.** *(⭐ Planted quietly: Jay will be home and cooking at 10:30. Nobody registers it as information.)*
---
## Page Seven
**25.** *Late afternoon. The bike. Suraj and Kicha getting ready to leave for their 2-to-11 shift. Suraj is unusually quiet; Kicha fills the silence for both of them.*
**26.** *Kicha, helmet under his arm, replaying the day as content:*
Keecha Rey. Beerakaya idea **genius** ra. Nenu **film** chesa motham.
Suraj *(flat, not proud)* Vaddu ra. Delete chey.
Keecha *(stunned)* …delete aa?
**27.** *Suraj doesn't explain. He puts his helmet on and gets on the bike.*
**28.** *(⭐ Suraj asking Kicha to delete footage is the first time in the series anyone does. It rhymes forward to Ep 10's *"aapu."* Do not point at it.)*
---
## Page Eight
**29.** *The flat, emptying for the evening. Anudeep at the table with the laptop and S.O.P_final v11.docx` open, alone.*
**30.** *Aishwarya, before she goes, pauses at the rail.*
Aish-warya Nuvvu beerakaya thinav kada.
Anudeep *(not looking up)* Muddamma chesindi. Thinali.
Aish-warya Adi answer kaadu.
**31.** *He looks up. She holds it a beat.*
Aish-warya Sare. Manchi ratri.
**32.** *She goes over the rail. Anudeep alone with a glowing document that has already done its job.*
---
## Page Nine
**33.** *Evening dissolves to night. The flat dark except the laptop. Anudeep working, or pretending to. A clock on the wall reading past ten.*
**34.** *A key in the door. **Jay**, home from the first half of his shift or between things, soaked-jacket-off, moving to the kitchen without a word to anyone because he thinks the flat is empty.*
**35.** *He clocks the one lit face at the table. He does not startle. He just registers it and keeps moving.*
**36.** *The stove clicks on. A small pan. Jay cooking something for one, at half past ten, out of habit.*
---
## Page Ten
**37.** *Anudeep, over the laptop, watching the back of a man cook. The smell reaches him.*
**38.** *Jay, not turning around:*
Jay Nuvvu thinnava?
Anudeep *(reflex)* Parledu le.
Jay Adi "thinnava" ki answer kaadu.
**39.** *Beat. Jay sets a second small pan going without being asked.*
Jay Kurcho.
**40.** *Anudeep closes the laptop. Crosses to the kitchen. Sits.*

# ▸ Act Three — the Table · panels 41 to 52
## Page Eleven
**41.** *Jay sets a plate in front of him. Plain. Two items. Nothing that was cooked for a guest.*
**42.**
Anudeep Idi… naaku ela telusu nachchutundo.
Jay Naaku teliyadu. Idi **naaku** ishtam. Anthe.
**43.** *(⭐ The inversion of the whole day. Nobody engineered this plate around Anudeep. Jay cooked what *Jay* likes and put a second plate down. **The first food all day that wasn't a test.**)*
**44.** *They eat. Jay talks to the table, not to Anudeep, one sentence at a time — the most he has said all series.*
Jay Evaraina "em thintav" ani adigithe — vaallaki nee food gurinchi telusukovaalani kaadu ra.
Jay **Nuvvu ikkada unnav ani** confirm cheskovadaaniki.
---
## Page Twelve
**45.** *Anudeep, very still. This lands harder than the argument the day almost had.*
**46.** ⭐ Spine / the Shrunk Weapon.** *And it comes out of him small, not loud — the sentence he has used as comfort for three weeks, turned for one moment into a blade, aimed at nothing but himself:*
Anudeep Nenu ikkada **temporary** ra. Rendu nelalu. Naa ishtalu enduku… **anta waste.**
**47.** *Jay does not argue. He does not comfort. He eats. And then, to the table:*
Jay Temporary ga unna — thinedi thinaali kada.
**48.** *(⭐ The refrain used in anger, but the anger is turned inward and it lasts one panel — not the blowup the earlier draft had. Jay absorbs it without flinching and hands it back defanged. **This is the only time all season it is said with an edge.**)*
---
## Page Thirteen
**49.** *They finish. It is quiet, and for the first time in three weeks the quiet is not lonely. Jay stacks the two plates. Anudeep takes them from him and washes them, unasked — and Jay lets him, which is its own kind of acceptance.*
**50.** *(⭐ The dish-washing runner: he cleans unasked again, but tonight nobody is out of the room, and nobody comments, and that is different.)*
**51.** *Kicha's camera on the counter where he left it charging — face down. It stays face down. Nobody films this one either.*
**52.** *Jay, heading up to finish his night, pauses at the passage.*
Jay Beerakaya nachchadu kada neeku.
Anudeep *(caught)* …ela telusu?
Jay Nuvvu **motham** thinesaavu. Ishtamainavi evaru motham thinaru.
---
# ▸ Act Four — the Landing · panels 53 to 64
## Page Fourteen
**53.** *Anudeep back in the store-room, on the mattress, awake — but lighter than the last two nights.*
Caption (Anudeep): Idi temporary.
**54.** *He hears the front door. Voices. Suraj and Kicha, home from the shift, loud in the way of men returning from work at midnight.*
**55.** *He sits up. Comes out.*
**56.** *Suraj in the kitchen doorway, tired, hair flat, opening the fridge out of habit. He sees Anudeep and stops.*
*A beat. Neither of them mentions the beerakaya. This is not a house where anyone says the thing.*
---
## Page Fifteen
**57.** *Kicha drops onto the sofa, already half-asleep, camera bag sliding off his shoulder.*
**58.** *Suraj, at the fridge, finds it mostly empty. He turns around. And he asks the same question he has asked all week — but gently now, the fight gone out of it, genuinely just wanting to feed his friend:*
Suraj Rey. Aakali ga unda? Em thintaav?
**59.** *And Anudeep — who has spent an entire episode unable to name a single dish, who ate his most-hated food without a word this very afternoon — answers **before the question is even finished**, without checking whether it is convenient, without a flicker of hesitation:*
Anudeep **Biryani.**
**60.** *Beat. Suraj blinks.*
---
## Page Sixteen
**61.** *And then Suraj **grins** — the first real grin since the phone call this morning — because the boy who couldn't choose anything just chose something, instantly, for himself.*
Suraj …biryani.
Anudeep Biryani.
Suraj *(already reaching for his phone, delighted)* Ippuda? Raatri padakonda-paavu?
Anudeep Nuvve adigaavu.
**62.** *Kicha, from the sofa, one eye open, sensing a mission:*
Keecha Biryani ekkada dorukutundi ee time lo…
Suraj Adi naa problem.
**63.** *Wide. Three of them in a kitchen at midnight, one of them finally, loudly wanting something. The whiteboard on the wall behind them still blank.*
**64.** *And on the counter, Kicha's camera — face down all night — with one small red light that nobody turned on.*
Caption (narration): It took him three weeks to name one thing he wanted.
Caption (narration): After that, nobody could get him to stop.
## End of Episode 3
*(No end gag — the episode ends quiet. Per the system: never a joke after a feeling.)*
