What our users say
I’ve tried basically every text-to-speech app out there, and Paper2Audio is the first one that actually sticks. Most readers drive me crazy because they read every single citation and page number out loud, but this one is smart enough to just skip the "junk" and focus on the actual story or research. The voices are actually good. I can listen for hours without getting that "listener fatigue" you get from standard AI voices. It honestly feels more like a podcast. Usually, apps this good lock the best voices behind a huge subscription, but the free version here is incredibly generous. It’s easily the best productivity app I’ve downloaded this year.
I have dyslexia and spent years relying on painfully robotic text to speech apps. Paper2Audio's voices are the first that actually sound natural, and the app got me through my master's thesis and a mountain of research papers by letting me listen instead of struggle through text. The team is also genuinely responsive, I suggested a small export improvement and they shipped it within weeks. Highly recommend, especially for students and researchers.
The voice is very natural. It avoids reading stuff in headers and footers. It saves me so much time allowing me to get through papers while I’m on the move. I submitted a request and real kind humans responded. If you’re not using this to read papers, you need to start because others are going to out read you bro
Found this accidentally, one of the best apps I’ve tried in its category, definitely adding it to my regular routine. The voices are actually good too, which I seriously appreciate.
For a good text to speech app that doesn't make you sell your guts for money id say Paper2Audio was a game changer when i found it. It has IOS, Android and also a full web app for browser use and they are all synced together by account. The voices are super realistic and it also narrates images (describing it out loud for you) and also tables intelligently. I've been using text to speech to read all my stuff whatever it be for 8 years now so i know what a good TTS app should look and feel like and this is the best one so far.
Best TTS app ever. In my opinion, this app is the best. I was involved in the beta phase and when issues arise, I have had almost immediate response from the makers. even with a free account, it blows other app out of the water. I have tried 11reader, natural speech, speechify etc. This has the ability to use AI and answer questions. you can use it for emails, chrome extension or books in multiple formats. For me, I can't stand robotic voices. I feel like I have a person reading to me!
